The surrounding area holds a variety of activities for all.

A warm welcome awaits you from your host, Mrs Linda Young, to this spacious, traditional working farmhouse ideally located between Edinburgh and Perth which offers a perfect base for many outdoor activities to be enjoyed near by. Golfers in particular are spoiled for choice with over 100 fine courses within an hours drive including some of Scotland's most famous golf courses; St. Andrews and Gleneagles to name a few.

For more adventurous tourists,  Mawcarse B&B is only a short distance away from the Scottish Gliding School and the world famous Knockhill Racing Circuit.  These activities are both fantastic individual experiences or can be enjoyed by the whole family.  The surrounding area also holds other activities such as Clay pigeon shooting, Goose shooting, fishing and several go-karting circuits.

For those more relaxed, the surrounding area offers many other activities.  Nearby is the RSPB Nature Reserve at Vane Farm which offers a wide range of Wildlife along with a view of the picturesque Loch Leven Castle in which there are boat trips available to the landmark.  Close by there are also other infamous Castles such as Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle and Scone Palace.  Out with nature and history, you could also expand your culinary skills by attending a near by cookery school.

As for easy access to Scotland's cities, Mawcarse House is ideal for those who are keen to see Scotland's famous views.  Being 25 miles away from St. Andrews and 30 miles from Edinburgh, the local bus service and new Park and Ride in Kinross makes all these trips much easier.  The close-by motorway also leaves easy access to visit Perth, Dundee and Glasgow.  However, Kinross itself has its own Cashmere factory and shop.
